Abstract

Managers are one of the key fundaments of corporate management and business systems organization in the market economy environment. In this context, the management as a managing system is undergoing the professionalization which represents one of the components in the reform of the local economy. That requires the need to motivate professional managers in an adequate way in order to achieve as high business results of corporations as possible, which is accomplished by establishing corresponding standards of success as criteria for measuring their efficiency.

However, in the climate of the global crisis, questioning the actual role and importance of managers is justifiable, as well as their adequate awarding or sanctioning in case of a business system inefficiency or its disappearance from a business scene. This kind of a problem is particularly a current issue in transitional countries, such as ours, during their intense efforts to access the Union in all segments, as well as in the segment of corporate management.
